ARCO (cc) is a space that takes place in an old house from the 1930s located in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood, Mexico City, where the eclectic constructions of the early 20th century are still preserved, including its neocolonial and art deco houses. It is a cultural company where art, design and architecture merge to create a collaborative space that also functions as a workspace.

An intervention and recovery proposal was made that focused on returning authenticity to each stroke to restore the original elements, creating a symphony of past and present where the fusion of architectural history, green spaces as well as fine materials make up the project. Livable quality, an essential premise, is reflected in every corner, where time and design converge in authenticity. A general criterion was established where each stroke, arch and window were part of a visual narrative that ran through the house with an elegant horizontal line. Where there were no arches, the walls told their own story, establishing a clear language between memory and the present.”

The kitchen became a place where services are displayed harmoniously, respecting and adapting to the ancient aesthetic. The lighting was carefully integrated into the original moldings and the walls preserved their traces of time as a vestige of the life of the property. The restoration of the façade was carried out with great attention to detail. The color palette used stands out, while integrating harmoniously with the urban environment. The blacksmith shops, which were carefully cleaned and restored, revealed their original beauty.

On the ground floor, there is a living space that functions as a showroom and shows the result of the collaborative work of the offices. This space includes a dining room, a bedroom and a patio with a fountain. On the first level, there are the offices, which are testimony to a fruitful collaboration. Finally, the second floor becomes the setting for meetings and culminates with a terrace, a versatile space that offers a green oasis in the middle of the city. The restoration of the façade was carried out meticulously to preserve the character and rich history of the city. The color palette stands out while integrating with the urban environment while revealing new intentions, uses and ways of living architecture in contemporary times.
