The municipality of Innichen is located at the foot of the nearly 3,000-meter-high peaks of the Haunold Group in the eastern Hochpustertal. It has existed in its current form since the Early Middle Ages and boasts a history spanning over 1,250 years.

In the historic core of Innichen, the ATTO Suites have now been established as a guesthouse conceived as a "home for a time". A stated goal of the project, however, was also to endow the address with a more public character in the interest of the local population, thereby achieving a significant enhancement of Färberstraße, which runs parallel to the pedestrian zone. In terms of position and orientation, the building aligns with the historically evolved urban fabric, allowing it to stand out as an independent structure through its gabled end and continue the character of the town. On the ground floor, a new restaurant operation featuring a farm-to-table concept utilizes the guest garden created on the mountain side and connects to the pedestrian zone via a new pathway. On the upper floors, seven high-quality holiday apartments have been created, each also offering a direct view of the striking Haunold Group.

Each apartment is oriented to at least two sides and, much like a theater box, features its own loggia facing the panorama – arguably the star of the show. A teardrop-shaped ornamentation serves as a recurring element with traditional references throughout the project. The use of regional woods such as untreated spruce and fragrant larch aligns with the pigmented insulating concrete facade, as well as handcrafted terrazzo floors, plasterwork, and roof tiles, which reference the local Sexten dolomite in color and grain. Many important historical buildings in the immediate vicinity were constructed from this stone – including the 12th-century abbey church. In this way, the materials used in the new building also reflect the history of the town.
