Organic forms and reflective surfaces define Carlyn Showroom
For the atelier, the design team at ARTARIAN incorporates symbolic spatial language to express the brand’s experimental approach to materials and design development. This zone operates as both a workspace and a display area, highlighting the brand’s focus on texture, form, and fabrication research. The connection between distorted space and user movement is a key compositional strategy; visitors engage with the spatial narrative indirectly before encountering the full experience upon entry.
Throughout, the integration of Carlyn’s product line with site-specific installations reinforces the brand’s aesthetic and conceptual positioning. The environment emphasizes daily familiarity elevated through material expression, enabling users to engage with the brand identity through layered spatial cues rather than didactic presentation.
Metallic finishes and object placement create a facade-like interior that adjusts with user movement and ambient lighting.

CARLYN is a designer bag brand that reinterprets the modern, sophisticated and artistic flair of New York, the city of its birth, with a contemporary sensibility. The CARLYN showroom is inspired by the brand's identity, ‘A Space of Affection’, which focuses on comforting textures and fluid silhouettes to create a space where you can escape from the world and be your true self. a space where you can escape from the tired reality and be your true self.

Hongdae, where the Carlin showroom is located, has a large number of young people who freely express their individuality, and a strong artistic infrastructure with a high concentration of artists and writers. its own artistic infrastructure. We thought that the fusion of Hongdae's local character and Carlin's identity would create a space that could serve as a new source of inspiration.

The space was designed with a symmetrical layout, with the showroom open to large windows and Carlin's atelier on the other side, separating the spaces according to their functions but allowing them to complement each other through flexible movement. The showroom was designed to project a surreal and futuristic dimension of the world in the East Sea through organic shapes of objects and silhouettes of reflected space and light. The atelier space was interpreted as a metaphorical space to express the brand's identity, including the brand's experimental material research, as a space dedicated to the brand.

By composing the objects with metallic materials and extending the objects to the ceiling through the mirrored steel on the ceiling, a new dimension of distorted space was formed, which was a departure from reality, and the distorted spaces were closely related through the movement of the customers from the outside entrance, so that they could experience them indirectly and only face the reality of the space when they entered the actual space.

The projection of the light and expansiveness of the main object was expressed as a façade that could show the identity of the Carlin showroom, not just the composition of the space, and induced the experience according to the user's movement, and the fusion of the main object with Carlin's products with a sense of mass was arranged to convey the specialness of everyday life to the user. In this way, Artterian conveyed the identity and experience of the brand to the customer through the Carlin showroom, so that the unique brand image of Carlin could provide a different experience to the consumer, a unique experience for consumers.
